Plastic grocery bags contribute to an ever-increasing amount of garbage dumped into landfills every day. Rainbow has decided to join the movement to encourage people to use environment-friendly cloth bags, baskets and bins.
At Rainbow we feel that we have a responsibility to take a step in the right direction. That is why we charge 5 cents a bag for all plastic grocery bags.
What do we do with the 5 cents? We donate it to a local charity.
We collect donations through our bag charges as well as through the collection boxes at the cashes. All money collected is sent to the chosen bag charge charity.
We also offer a 3 cent credit for every re-usable bag and 10 cents for every bin used at Rainbow.
It's a win-win situation.
Please help us make a difference.
